In the quiet hills under Nkandla stand a church that once echoed with songs of joy. This sacred place has been our community’s heart, where children are baptized, couples are blessed, and families come together in faith and unity.
But one night, a powerful storm swept through our village. The wind tore away the roof, cracked our walls, and left our house of worship broken. Yet through all the damages and losses, our faith still stands. When the storm passed, our people did not give up.
We came together to pray, to sing, and to keep the light of hope burning. Every Sunday, even with no roof above us, our congregation gathers under open skies, because the church is not the walls; it is the people. As the church, we believe that faith is stronger than any storm.
As the Word of God reminds us in Isaiah 58:12: “Your people will rebuild the ancient ruins and will raise up the age-old foundations; you will be called Repairer of Broken Walls, Restorer of Streets with Dwellings.” We believe that through faith and unity, this prophecy can live again here in the Pholela Parish.
Our hands may be few, but our faith is great. And with your love, our church will rise again. Today, we invite you to become part of this story of restoration.
