Green ELCSA is pleased to announce its partnership with the Global Reformed Advocacy Platform for Engagement (GRAPE), a transformative programme of the World Communion of Reformed Churches (WCRC), implemented in collaboration with the Economic Policy Research Institute (EPRI).
This partnership marks an important step in strengthening faith-based advocacy at the intersection of climate justice, economic justice, and social protection. Through GRAPE, Green ELCSA joins a global network of churches and partners working to influence policy and advance justice-centered solutions for some of the most pressing challenges of our time.
At the heart of this collaboration is a shared commitment to promoting Universal Basic Income (UBI) as a pathway toward dignity, resilience, and equity, particularly in the context of climate change. As communities face increasing environmental and economic pressures, UBI presents an opportunity to ensure that no one is left behind in the transition to a sustainable future.
For Green ELCSA, this work is deeply rooted in theological conviction. Caring for creation and upholding human dignity are inseparable callings. Economic vulnerability often limits the ability of communities to engage in sustainable practices, while climate impacts continue to deepen inequality.
By supporting initiatives like UBI, we seek to contribute to a just transition, one that restores dignity, strengthens communities, and enables responsible stewardship of the earth.
This partnership also opens space for engaging broader global justice conversations, including climate finance, loss and damage, and the moral imperative for equitable redistribution of resources. It affirms the role of the Church not only as a spiritual guide, but as an active voice in shaping a more just and compassionate world.
Green ELCSA looks forward to working alongside GRAPE, WCRC, and EPRI, and to amplifying the voices of communities most affected by injustice, as we journey together toward a future grounded in justice, dignity, and care for all creation.
