New PostA Call to Stewardship: Support the Mission of Green ELCSA
Green ELCSA belongs to all of us. This mission will only succeed if we walk it together, with our prayers, our voices, our actions, and our resources.

At the beginning of this year (2026), the Green ELCSA family gathered in a powerful and hopeful meeting to launch our three-year strategic plan. What emerged from that moment was not only a shared vision for environmental justice within the church, but also a deep and urgent realization that this mission requires collective commitment, including financial support.

Across the discussions, one message was clear, members expressed a strong desire for Green ELCSA to embark on a bold and intentional fundraising journey, because the work ahead is not optional. It is central to our faith, our communities, and the future of creation.

In response to this call, we have taken important steps to strengthen the sustainability and accountability of our work:

  • Green ELCSA is now officially registered as a non-profit entity

  • We are developing a transparent financial profile for current and future donors

These milestones are more than administrative, they represent our commitment to good stewardship, transparency, and trust.

We invite all ELCSA members, partners, and friends to support this mission. When making your donation, we kindly ask that you provide your correct email address. This allows us to share updates, reports, and ensure transparency in how funds are used.

No amount is too small. Even a minimum contribution of R10 can make a meaningful difference. To donate, please click here or scan a QR code below.

Why Your Support Matters -

The mission of Green ELCSA is rooted in our calling as the church to care for God’s creation. Today, that calling is urgent. We are facing increasing climate impacts in our communities - droughts, floods, and environmental degradation; growing inequality, where the most vulnerable suffer the most from ecological crises; and a need for faith-based leadership in climate justice, advocacy, and sustainable practices.

Your contribution will directly support our operational tools, including website; Green Champions across ELCSA; Community-based environmental projects; Climate justice advocacy and engagement; Development of eco-theology and faith-based resources; and Youth and women-led environmental initiatives.

Green ELCSA belongs to all of us. This mission will only succeed if we walk it together, with our prayers, our voices, our actions, and our resources.

Let us respond faithfully to this moment.

Care for creation is care for life.
